Group-work

Hello you,
Welcome to the first drop of The PBL Drawer!
I'm so glad you're here, and I look forward to sharing tools and methods for Project-Based Learning that can help teachers and students thrive in a PBL environment-
This drop is about group work, one of the most common teaching methods in school and at the same time one of the most difficult to make work well. Below you will find three tools that you can use with your students as early as Monday morning: a Collaboration Profile, a Group Contract and a printable SCRUM board, as well as the guide that ties them together. Click on each image below to download.
This is the first of nine drops coming throughout the school year. If you would like your entire school to receive all the drops, school and individual subscriptions are now open, you can find the details here.
I hope these tools make a real difference in your classroom.
With head, hands and heart,
Loni

Scrum Board template
A template that helps groups make clear agreements about how they will work together. Available in three versions: elementary, intermediate, and 7th grade and up. Use it at the very beginning of a project to give the group a common point of reference to return to when things get tough.
A ten-question quiz that matches students with one of five animals based on their collaborative style. Includes a class poster, individual animal descriptions with strengths and challenges, and a radar chart that groups can use to map their dynamics. Use before a project starts to give students a common language about how they work together.
A printable project management board with four columns: To Do, In Progress, Feedback, and Done. Includes examples for different age levels and printable task cards for younger students. Use it at the beginning and end of each work session to keep the group moving in the same direction.

Was this helpful to you?
There will be eight more drops like this throughout the school year. It is possible to subscribe as an entire school or as an individual teacher, whichever suits you best.
Read more about subscriptions here.
And if you want to stay connected between drops, you can find The PBL-Drawer on Facebook and LinkedIn for more free tools, videos, and inspiration for Project-Based Learning.
